Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I recently found a problem with my laptop. When I try to do something it automatically select something. Like, when I am ontry to write desktop, it automatically select THIS PC icon. If I want to open other application from desktop, THIS PC opens only and when I move the cursor along other application, it shows the description, but does not open the app.

When I try to write something, the writing software (like ms word) just scrolls up. It happens frequently. Even when I am writing this question, it happens again. I have re-installed the touchpad and keyboard driver, but in vain.

I also ask HP support. But he has suggested to update the BIOS. But thats not work either.

I am using HP 15s-du3000, OS: Windows 11 Home Insider Preview Single Language Evaluation copy (Build 22449.rs_prerelease.210827-1350)

@RoySoumit99 --- as an experiment, I would disable the touchpad, and connect a "known-good" USB mouse, borrowed from a different computer.  Similarly, attach a "known-good" USB keyboard, and use it, instead of using the built-in keyboard.

If "random" things still happen, it could be a failing keyboard, that i sending unwanted "keystrokes" to the motherboard. In that case, it is somewhat costly to get a computer technician to replace the keyboard -- disassembling a laptop computer is best left to an expert.

Thanks for your reply. I have tried what you have said. But that does not solved the problem yet.

@RoySoumit99 -- does your laptop computer have a "touch-screen" ?  If so, and if that device is failing, then random "clicks" could be generated.
