HP ENVY All in One
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
I bought an Open Box HP ENVY 31" All in One Computer last week, but when I got it home it still had a Best Buy "RetailAdmin" login as the Systems Administrator. I was able to add my own logIn ID, but discovered that there was hardly anything I could do without being the Systems Administrator. The system boots up, but now I can't even login to Windows anymore since my personal login ID password no longer works.

I went back to Best Buy to find out how to fix it and they told me that I needed to bring the computer in. That would be a major problem in that I'm 78 years old and the computer weighs 44 lbs. I had to hire someone to carry it up to my apartment -- so the added cost and inconvenience of getting it there and back is something that I definitely don't want to do.

I asked if I doing a clean install of Windows 10 Pro would solve the problem and was told 'maybe.' I purchased the software and discovered I couldn't install it without logging in to the previously installed Windows 10 Home edition. Since I can't get past the logon screen, the computer is now completely non functional. Is there a way I can get around this by reformatting the computer and then trying to install Windows 10 Pro? Or am I going to have to hire someone to take my computer back to Best Buy for them to fix there?

I talked to someone from the Geek Squad and asked if I did an upgrade to Windows 10 Pro would that solve the problem. He wasn't sure. So I spent another $217 only to discover that I can't even install that.

I was able at one point to reset to factory settings and enter a new Systems Administrator password, but when the Login screen appears it still wants the RetailAdmin password.
