Hi @godsgirl50021,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds frustrating to have issues with HP Assistant on your desktop. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the problem.

  • Restart Your Computer: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve temporary glitches with software.
  • Check Internet Connection: Ensure your desktop is connected to the internet properly, as HP Assistant requires internet access to function.
  • Update HP Assistant: Make sure you have the latest version of HP Assistant installed. You can usually check for updates within the application itself or download the latest version from HP's official website.
  • Check for Windows Updates: Sometimes, Windows updates can interfere with certain applications. Make sure your operating system is up to date.
  • Run HP Print and Scan Doctor: This tool can help diagnose and resolve printing and scanning problems. It might also detect issues related to HP Assistant.
  • Reinstall HP Assistant: If the above steps don't work, consider uninstalling HP Assistant completely and then reinstalling it. This can sometimes fix underlying software issues.
  • Check Firewall or Antivirus Settings: Sometimes, security software can block HP Assistant from connecting to the internet. Ensure that HP Assistant is allowed through any firewall or antivirus settings.

By going through these steps, you should hopefully be able to resolve the issue with signing into HP Assistant on your desktop.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
