HP All-in-One 22-c0029
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My All-in-One is only 1 1/2 years old and I can not upgrade to Windows 11.

Microsoft system requirements states that the processor has to be 1 (GHz) or faster or a system on a Chip (SoC).

My system is a

System on a Chip.

Is this upgradeable or what can I do so that I can upgrade to Windows 11.

Thanks.

Hi:

Your PC's AMD A6-9225 processor is not supported.

Microsoft drew the W11 processor support line at the AMD Ryzen 3xxx processors.

If you want to try out W11 on your PC, it is relatively easy to do...

I would make a system image of your current W10 installation prior to updating to W11, so you can easily reinstall W10 in the future.  I used the free Macrium Reflect software to do that, under the Backup at Home section.

Along with the system image, make sure you create the bootable DVD or USB rescue drive you boot from to access the system image stored on your portable hard drive.

Macrium Software | Reflect Free Edition

First make this registry change...

https://www.hellpc.net/how-to-bypass-tpm-and-cpu-requirements-windows-11-upgrade-unsupported-pc/

Then download the Windows 11 ISO file (3rd option), not the W11 installation assistant.

Download Windows 11 (microsoft.com)

Then open the file with Windows explorer, and click on the setup application.

To do that, right click on the ISO file and select 'Open With' and select Windows Explorer.

See the screenshot...this is what you will see when you open the file with Windows Explorer.

After you double click to run the setup application, you will get this window, and you can now upgrade to W11.

You just have to accept the agreement that comes up during the upgrade process about your PC not meeting the requirements, etc., etc..

My unsupported W11 PC's got all of the W11 updates.

I have upgraded 5 of them to W11 and they seem to run a little better on W11 than they did on W10.

However, I don't know how long they will continue to get all of the updates, or what will happen when the new build of W11 comes out next year in October.

hi

Hello
Warning @JerryBear2012
For the moment, it is not clear enough, the user is not always aware of the consequences
We can tell you, that despite everything we can install windows 11
Only, it is not without risk ..
Microsoft, warns users, but it's not very explicit

Windows 11 on devices that don't meet minimum system requirements
We risk having serious problems, probably updates, security problems, we do not really know what else

If the installation goes well for some, for others it can be complicated

go back to windows 10 - HP Support Community - 8200306

Hp also might not provide any update:

HP PCs – Support for Windows 11 | HP® Customer Support

Think carefully, before taking the risk, see the experiences of other users, see if it can be interesting, or if you can wait to have a new computer later, 100% compatible!
Windows 10 remains one of the best systems, and can be used for quite a while.

@JerryBear2012-- My All-in-One is only 1 1/2 years old

Is this your computer: HP 22-c0029 All-in-One Desktop PC Product Specifications | HP® Customer Support

It was released for purchase on 28-May-2018, which makes the architecture over 3 years old.

That web-page states:  Supports the AMD A6 9225 and A9-9425 Dual Core processors only.
The processor that is shipped with your model is soldered [to the motherboard] and is not upgradeable.

Note that you can keep using Windows 10 until its "sunset" in Fall 2025, when Microsoft will stop supporting Windows 10.  Then, you'll need to purchase a new computer.

In 2025, your disk-drive will be up to 7 years old -- 7-year-old automobile tires are "bald", and need to be proactively replaced before they "blow". Disk-drives that old should also be proactively replaced, before they fail (and you lose access to all your personal files).

Your computer comes with 8 GB of RAM, and can support 16 GB of RAM.
Note that "typical" usage of Windows 10 uses less than 4 GB of RAM ("gamers" need at least 16 GB).
So, probably, no need to spend money on more RAM.

Your computer comes with a 1000 GB 7200-RPM disk-drive.
One possible upgrade will be to a SSD (Solid State Device) -- it is 5 times faster than your current disk-drive.  So, this upgrade will make your computer more responsive.
