Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Can I upgrade to a Ryzen7 5800x on my ERICA2 motherboard? My computer doesn't notice the Ryzen7 when I install it. It notices my Ryzen 5 3500 when reinstalling it. I'm pretty sure its a Motherboard problem but its been years since I reinstalled a motherboard. Lol.

Hi @JohnSmith52

Welcome to the HP Forum.

The Erica2 MB has limited CPU upgrade support. The board can only run 65 watt TDP CPUs.

This MB has proprietary: power supply connections and front panel ports. The MB and case are a non standard form factor.

I don't think you can find a compatible HP MB for your case and power supply that can run a 5800X. And a retail MB will not work with the HP power supply and HP case.
