@Mcol3man,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

Your OMEN by HP 25L GT15-0000a is likely fitted with the HanaL motherboard (AMD B550 chipset with SSID: 89EB) with a Ryzen 5 5600G or Ryzen 7 5700G processor. This platform already includes firmware TPM (fTPM) 2.0 built into the CPU -so there should be no need for an external module or a special BIOS update just to get TPM 2.0.

However, if it is the case that Windows isn't detecting it, it's usually just a BIOS setting. Here is what you can do:

Step 1 – Enter the BIOS/UEFI:

  1. Power off the PC completely.

  2. Turn it back on and immediately start tapping the Esc key.

  3. When the Startup Menu appears, press F10 to enter BIOS Setup.

Step 2 – Enable fTPM:

  1. In the BIOS, look for a Security or Advanced tab.

  2. Find the option labeled AMD fTPM, PSP fTPM, or Security Device Support.

  3. Make sure this option is Enabled.

  4. If there’s a choice between Discrete TPM and Firmware TPM, select Firmware TPM (fTPM).

(Optional but sometimes necessary: choose “Clear TPM” if the system seems stuck -note this erases existing TPM keys, so don’t do it if you have BitLocker enabled without saving your recovery key.)

Step 3 – Save and reboot:

  • Press F10 again to save changes and reboot into Windows.

Step 4 – Confirm in Windows:

  • Press Win + R, type: tpm.msc and press Enter.

  • In the TPM Management window, look for:

    • Status: The TPM is ready for use

    • Specification Version: 2.0

Alternatively, go to Settings → Update & Security → Windows Security → Device Security → Security processor details.

If you've updated to the latest BIOS (version F.36) from HP Support and enabled fTPM as above, you'll have full TPM 2.0 capability. The "attestation not ready" message some users see in Windows Security usually relates to enterprise features (BitLocker/Azure AD) and doesn't mean TPM 2.0 is missing.

Kind Regards,
