HP Laptop PC 15s-fr2000
Microsoft Windows 11

I got a new battery two days ago, and I thought to take care of my battery and used the default Microsoft services to do it, but I couldn't find a way to limit my laptop's charging to 80%.

I tried many methods on the internet, but they don't work:
- No option in the control panel to do so.
- Not even in the bios, I could find a way to limit the charging.

There is no way or setting to limit the charging in HP consumer-class notebooks.

That feature is only available on some HP business class notebooks.

See this link for how to get the most life out of your notebook's battery:

One thing I don't recommend doing is to leave the notebook plugged into A/C power 24/7/365 with the battery in a constant 100% charge state or that may lead to battery swelling.

I was looking for the answers to the same question. I thought the ability to set charge limit is very basic to laptops these days... Why HP?? Why.....?
