Hi @Banshee3505,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.
I understand you're experiencing an issue with turning off a feature on your HP laptop.
I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, I'm here to help you today.
Here’s how to disable it:
Steps to Disable the "Too Close to Screen" Warning:
Open the HP Eye Health or Distance Detection Application:
- Look for an app related to "Eye Health," "Wellness," or "Distance Detection" in your installed programs. It may have an HP-branded name.
Adjust Settings in the Application:
- Launch the application and navigate to the settings menu.
- Look for options like "Proximity Alerts," "Distance Alerts," or similar.
- Toggle the feature off or adjust the sensitivity to avoid frequent warnings.
Check the System Tray:
- Look for an icon in the system tray (near the clock on the taskbar) related to HP Eye Health or a similar feature.
- Right-click on it and see if you can disable the feature directly from the context menu.
Disable the Sensor:
- If no option is found in software, you might need to disable the hardware sensor used for distance detection.
- Device Manager:
- Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.
- Look for a category related to sensors (e.g., "Imaging Devices" or "Sensors").
- Identify the relevant device (likely named something related to proximity or wellness sensors).
- Right-click the device and choose Disable (not uninstall, in case you want to re-enable it later).
- Device Manager:
Uninstall the Software (if needed):
- If the warnings persist and you don't use the feature, you can uninstall the associated software.
- Open Control Panel > Programs and Features (or Apps in Windows 11 settings).
- Locate the relevant application and uninstall it.
Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a great day ahead!
