HP TouchSmart suite 3.0

Hi I would appreciate if anyone could help me.  When starting up my old TouchSmart 300 I get a black screen and it freezes with a message Preparing Automatic Repair - is this a problem I could sort out without having to call in an engineer.

Many thanks

@LynneBee I need a few more details, such as: Which operating system are you using with your device? Is there a screenshot you can attach of the error on your screen for better clarity? When was the last time it worked without these issues, what was the last thing you did on the computer?

Meanwhile, here's a list of steps that have fixed the "Preparing Automatic repair" screen:

Solution 1. Perform a hard reboot

If your Windows cannot boot because of the "Preparing Automatic Repair" or "Diagnosing your PC" error, you can do a hard reboot. Remove the battery and AC adapter. Next, press and hold the power button for 20 seconds and see if it will boot up normally.

If this method doesn't work, try the following solutions.
