Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hello, my old computer (Windows 7 64-bit) is about to be replaced by a new Windows 10/11 model. Is there an HP-approved method of transferring programs and files from the old to the new? I tried one program that was supposed to transfer stuff to an external hard drive (which I suppose is an analogous procedure), and it simply didn't work at all.

I have NOT heard of that sort of thing from HP. Please use the following way (for W10, W11 is very close to the same)

Move files off a Windows 7 PC using Backup and Restore

Regards.

Thank you, that looks very useful - but, as I understand it, it only moves files, not programs, and I'd like to avoid (as much as possible) to have to reinstall masses of programs.
