HP Omen 870-210
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, I just installed a larger 3TB Western Digital drive in my HP Omen desktop, and reinstalled Windows 10 and now am having trouble installing all of the HP software that came with this PC including Omen Control, I tried to install Omen control, but a certain .dll was missing, this is the thing that changes light color.

From what source?  The HP-provided "System Restore Set" ?  The free "generic" Windows 10 download from Microsoft?

I looked at:  https://support.hp.com/my-en/drivers/selfservice/omen-by-hp-870-200/13687063

for all the device-drivers for Windows 10 for your system, but did not find anything relevant, other than the "HP Support Assistant".  Try running that software, to see if it will download the software that you want.

Indeed, from what source?

HP Recovery Manager (if available) / Recovery Disc/Drive (if you created one) should give you all what you need.

Don't use website - drivers there are obsolete, not maintained by anybody and not matching what was supplied with your machine.

I disagree.  Use the web-site, if you are installing Windows from a "generic" Windows DVD, rather than the HP Installer.

I disagree.

I disagree.

I disagree.  Sometimes, they are "newer" -- and match the device-drivers downloaded by HP Support Assistant.

Ah, but you can disagree as much as you want but it won't change anything.

Let me give you just two very recent examples off the back of my discussion with HP Support regarding Omen Control application that stopped working on mine (and not only) PC - separately here:

https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Gaming-Desktops/Adding-SSD-and-Installing-Windows-on-it/m-p/6185945#M9...

Exhibit #1

Omen Control that's available on HP website (v1.0.3)

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/swdetails/omen-by-hp-870-000-desktop-pc-series/1108...

is unsurprisingly not the same one as the one that I have had installed on my PC from the outset (v.1.1.1).

When the former is installed, Omen Control does not change the lighting at all - at least on my PC.

Exhibit #2

This is rather obsolete version of BIOS for my PC:

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/swdetails/omen-by-hp-870-000-desktop-pc-series/1108...

I am on version fourty-something which was downloaded and installed by HP Assistant couple of months ago.

You can check all these delierables yourself here:

Nevertheless, what are your comments to the merit of my e-mail though - as your response was personal rather than ad meritum?

Your first response also was ad hominem.
