Hi,
I was running Windows 10 1703 on my EliteDesk 800 without any issues, but when I ran the Windows 10 Updater and did an inline update, I got lots of Windows related issues.
For this reason, I formatted my drive and installed 1709 from scratch.
This seems to have worked fine and everything seems to be working, except I no longer have any USB 3.0 ports working??
Windows 10 1709 installed drivers for most of the Intel 8 Series / C220 Series chipset.
I have downloaded the latest Chipset drivers for this model machine from the HP website and run them, but they made no difference.
I noticed on another post that clearing the CMOS had fixed this issue for them, so I followed the instructions and did the same. I got the system notice on boot up that no system settings had been made.
I went into the BIOS and made sure that VT+, USB 3.0 Driver Support & Boot options were all correct and restarted the PC.
No USB 3.0 discovered or installed. I re-ran the chipset drivers, which went through without any issue, restarted and still no USB 3.0 listed in Device Manager.
I am at a loss. I know that 1709 is a lot stricter on signed drivers, but the system isn't complaining that this is the issue, so I don't know what to try next?
I have 4 working USB 2.0 ports and 6 non-working USB 3.0 ports!!
Any assistance most welcomed please.

Install the Intel Chipset driver for Windows 10.
Reboot, and rerun Windows Update, to see if it can now find/install the USB 3.0 device-drivers.

Installation instructions
NOTE: To install the software in this file, you must be logged in with Administrator privileges.
1. Download the file by clicking the Download or Obtain Software button and saving the file to a folder on your hard drive (make a note of the folder where the downloaded file is saved).
2. Double-click the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions to unpack the files to C:\SWSETUP\SP82022 or another directory of your choice.
3. Run the setup program from the directory that contains the unpacked files. Use the -? key combination to list the command line options for the setup program.
NOTE: After double-clicking the downloaded file, select This program installed correctly on the Program Compatibility Assistant screen. This message is provided by the protection mechanism of Microsoft Windows.

After discovering the USB 3 ports quit working on my refurbished Elitedesk 800 G1 tower, I started digging for drivers and everything else. Turns out it's a simple fix. Enter the Computer Setup (F10), locate the device menu, disable the USB 3 Debug option. Reboot. I verified this by swithcing the option on and off a couple times. I think the BIOS update I did reset it. Hope this helps someone else.
