My Pc was having issues and I had a friend format the drive  and create a bootable windows 11  usb.  When trying to install it says no disk drive found which is odd as it was formatted  along with the volumes. At this time is nearly impossible for me to install it as the main disk C not showing up. Is there another way to get this corrected or am I pretty much screw and out of a pc.

I think you need this driver

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp145001-145500/sp145304.exe

run the program and install it to a USB flash drive

then go back to your win11 install and click the "load driver" and use the USB

Hi, @Risingpr1nce

There's a little more to it...

Since your PC has an Intel 11th - 13th generation core processor, you have to install the Intel storage controller drivers that I zipped up and attached below, which are good for PC's with the Intel 11th gen > 13th gen core processors so Windows can find the SSD.

Copy the 5 files from the F6/VMD/f6vmdflpy-x64 folder to a USB flash drive.

iastorvd.cat

iastorvd.inf

iastorvd.sys

rstmweventlogmsg.dll

rstmwservice.exe

Have the flash drive and your W11 installation media plugged into USB ports.

Boot from the W11 installation flash drive.

When you get to the screen where no drives can be found, click on the Load driver option, browse to the flash drive with the storage controller drivers on it.

If you check the box, it will only include the compatible driver.

Click Next, and Windows should find the drive and install.

You're very welcome.

What do the details indicate under 'Show Details?"

What I usually do when Windows can see the drive but won't install, is to clean the disk.

  • 1. From inside the Windows Setup screen, press Shift+F10 to open a command prompt window.
  • 2. Type diskpart and press the enter key.
  • 3..Type list disk (look for your disk number, check the size of the disk)
  • 4. Type select disk <disk number> For your situation select disk2 (select the disk you want to format)
  • 5. Type clean
  • 6. Close the command prompt window.

Now try installing Windows again.

so for my Case going to the Page set up at the beginning will not work because number one shift and F10 was not working so I had to do FN shift Neph 10 once I did that and did the disc part and list disk then was presented with both USB and unfortunately the main disk was not showing so what I did was I went back to the screen where it asked where do I want to install and did the command prompt there and the internal disk showed up I was able to clean and install. It was the only way that he was gonna show the internal disk for where I wanted to install it at
