HP Recommended

When I run Windows Update, my desktop will abandon the update and said that it will retry when I am connected to the internet, but I am connected to the internet.  I tried using the Wifi as well as an ethernet cable, but my computer still thinks I am not connected.   I ran the network troubleshooter, which it restarted my network adaptor and said I am connected, but somehow the Window Update does not recognize that I am online.  I had even reset my computer to its factory setting, but the problem persisted.  Any suggestions on what else I can try.
