HP Comapaq 6000 Pro MT PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

When I start my computer there is hp support assistant window that pops up. It says The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. It also says to enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package HP Support Assistant.msi but cant find it. This happens all the time.

What should I do?

Microsoft Windows is designed to allow the "sharing" of resources across a network.

This is usually done by "mapping" a drive-letter, such as 'F:', to a folder on another computer that is somewhere on the same network.

Such "mappings" are attempted to be re-established at every boot-up of Windows.

The error-message you are quoting is produced when the remote computer (that is "sharing" its folder) is not available.

Under Windows 10, open File Explorer, and delete the non-functional mapping.

Then, to find that missing '.msi' (Microsoft Installer) package, access:  http://support.hp.com  and enter your model-number, and do a search. Then, click on the search-result to find the download page for your model-number. Select the HP Support Assistant package, download it, and run it.
