HP ProDesk 400 G3 Small Form Factor PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello , I've been gifted a HP Pro desk 400 g3. I wanted to upgrade to w indows 11 but realise it is not supported. I haven't even plugged it in yet as I need to buy a display port to hdmi cable.

My main question is , if this machine has TPM 1.2 can that be updated to 2.0 by firmware download.

If not , I will probably go no further , many thanks

Hi:

You can update the TPM 1.2 firmware to 2.0, but even if you do that, none of the processors that are supported in the 400 G3  model series meet Microsoft's minimum W11 hardware requirements of an Intel 8th generation core or newer processor.

See this link below and the instructions I attached for how to update the TPM firmware to 2.0:

Infineon TPM Security Update | HP® Support

You need this file to do the update with:

HP ProDesk 400 G3 Small Form Factor PC

SLB9670 TPM 1.2 ver. 6.43.245.0

SP87753

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp87501-88000/sp87753.exe

Regarding Windows 11:

If you want to install W11 on your PC as is, you can, but you would have to use a workaround that bypasses the W11 hardware checks so you can do it.

If you are happy with your PC, and if you are interested in doing an in-place upgrade from W10 to W11, watch this video:
