HP Pavilion All-in-One - 23-q110na (Touch)

Hello,
I am attempting to update the bios on an old 23-q110na model however all BIOS image updating attempts I make say that the BIOS images isn't valid. The current version of the BIOS is A0.03. I have attempted to update to A0.13, A0.17 and A0.18,
the issue I have found is that the bios isn't valid for the motherboard however on the website to download BIOS Drivers for 23-q110na model there are not any available. Is there anywhere I can find an updated bios image for this model?

(The reason for the update is that windows 10 is erroring when installing with the error code: ACPI_BIOS so if there may be another cause please let me know)

Hi @Magixal

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It appears you are experiencing issues updating the BIOS on your HP Pavilion All-in-One - 23-q110na model. Here are some steps and recommendations to help resolve the issue:

Common Steps for BIOS Updates

Verify Compatibility: Ensure that you are downloading BIOS updates specifically compatible with your motherboard and current BIOS version. Incorrect versions might not be suitable for your hardware.

Download from Official Sources: Only download BIOS updates from HP's official website to avoid compatibility issues and ensure the authenticity of the update files.

Create a Bootable USB Drive: Utilize tools such as HPBiosUpdRec or other HP utilities to create a bootable USB drive with the BIOS update. This can aid in smooth installations.

Advanced Methods

For more specific guidance, refer to the following sections:

Using HPBiosUpdRec Utility:

The HPBiosUpdRec utility is used to locally update or restore the system BIOS on PCs using a Windows operating system. Ensure you download the latest version of this utility from the HP BIOS update page.

HP Image Assistant:

Utilize the HP Image Assistant tool that can provide automatic updates and ensure BIos consistency across your HP devices. Download this tool from HP Image Assistant.

FailSafe Boot Block:

In case of a ROM flash failure, ensure the FailSafe Boot Block feature is active on your device to enable recovery using a BIOS image CD. Create a BIOS image CD using the instructions from BIOS image CD for FailSafe Boot.

Potential Causes of the Issue

Incorrect BIOS File: Verify that the BIOS file matches exactly with your model and current BIOS version. Sometimes multiple versions are listed and only specific ones are applicable.

BIOS Write Protection: Ensure that there are no write-protection mechanisms enabled on your current BIOS setup.

System Stability Issues: Perform hardware diagnostics to ensure that your system hardware is stable and functioning correctly.
