I followed directions from HP's driver download page for installing BIOS upgrade from a USB drive. The instructions say to download sp97130.exe using a second computer save it to a USB drive then double click on downloaded file. It appears it runs the installation at that point. However it does not state that it is to be plugged into the computer that you wish to upgrade the BIOS on. I have not followed those instructions because i don't believe they are correct. I would think they should state that it creates a bootable USB which would then do the install but there is nothing about that in the instructions for creating a bootable install USB?

Run the BIOS update program directly on the laptop you want to update

ALWAYS connect the power adapter so in case battery is low...it can finish the update...that is a rule on any computer..A BIOS update must not be interrupted or corruption may occur.
