Hi:
If you want to save your existing configuration, you can use the free Macrium disk imaging utility to create a system image to store on a portable hard drive as well as bootable rescue media (DVD or USB flash drive) you boot from to access the system image stored on the portable hard drive.
You want the software on the left side of the page under the Backup at Home section.

However, doing a backup prior to doing a clean install of W10 is optional if you don't plan on reinstalling your current files.
I use Macrium to do periodic backups on my PC when I don't want to have to reinstall my programs and files.
Here is a tutorial for how to use Rufus to install W10.
The only thing I recommend is instead of MBR, use the GPT partition scheme.

Is there a Windows product key on your PC's case?
That is what you would use to activate W10
I don't know if the volume license key in Windows will work to activate W7 from a clean install.
But to play it safe, use a free utility such as Belarc advisor to get the installed windows product key from your PC.

Got belarc but i dont seem to find the product key so i went and use the regedit ......
The product ID is not the same as product key format
I went ahead and boot usb (rufus) and install win 10 pro
select -> windows 10 reinstall and its moving win7 to win old
windows encountered error and wants me to restart
Error code 0xC0000005

now it wont even boot up to win7
Kmode error BSOD
I may have to start from ground zero and create a new USB stick with rufus but the bigger issue is i have to locate the product ID
