Upgrade CPU to run Windows 11.

Can I upgrade? My CPU to run Windows 11?  I am running Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700 CPU @ 3.40GHz 3.41 GHz but this is not compatible with Windows 11.

Don't rush, any new version has these problems, wait at least a little bit before you start

To better understand, I tried the installation
The computer being "compatible", and offered in update with windows update
Be careful, because I haven't seen anyone mentioned this
I have a 256gb drive, there was quite a bit of space left, but during the upgrade the drive turned red.
Although I install many games on my Data player!
So I was forced to sacrifice some programs to avoid problems
information which seems to me to be quite important, take care of the available space (I had at least half of it free, if not more)!

Windows 11 on devices that don't meet minimum system requirements 
We risk having serious problems, probably updates, security problems, we do not really know what else

Think carefully, before taking the risk, see the experiences of other users, see if it can be interesting, or if you can wait to have a new computer later, 100% compatible!
Windows 10 remains one of the best systems, and can be used for quite a while.

After looking through the provided lists it does not look like that PC is comptable with any processors support by windows 11 but there are posts in this forum with work arounds if you are interested

Unless there is a BIOS update that adds support for newer processors, the only processors that will work are the ones that Prométhée posted in his reply.

Even if there was a BIOS update, none of the processors your PC's Intel H110 chipset supports meet the W11 requirements of the Intel 8th gen core processors.

If you want to install W11 on your PC as is, you can bypass the W11 hardware requirements using two easy methods.  The first one is the easiest.

I would make a system image of your current W10 installation prior to updating to W11, so you can easily reinstall W10 in the future.  I used the free Macrium Reflect software to do that, under the Backup at Home section. 

Along with the system image, make sure you create the bootable DVD or USB rescue drive you boot from to access the system image stored on your portable hard drive.

No registry changes needed.  No need to create installation media.  Just download the W11 ISO file, and the guy's zip file.

I used the first procedure last Saturday to do an in-place upgrade an old HP Elitebook 6930p notebook made in 2010 to W11, and I was able to keep my old Office 2010 Starter program that came with the notebook when it had W7 on it, along with all of my other programs, files and settings.

The notebook met none of the enhanced W11 hardware requirements.

That is the 9th unsupported W11 PC I have upgraded to W11, and not one of them have had any issues whatsoever.

They have all gotten all the Windows 11 updates released thus far.

I check those against a PC I have that is fully supported to run W11.

so maybe i missed a model from this **bleep** list, but from what is supported by this motherboard it seems not!
and that won't just be the only restriction
