I have a brand new unopened Pavilion 590-p0057c desktop PC that has been in storage for 5 years. If I set it up can the OS be upgraded to Windows 11? I cannot ask HP tech support since the PC is out of warranty. And I don't really want to take the time and effort to set up this PC only to find that it cannot run Windows 11.
I have tried several Google searches for answers but have had no luck. I am hoping that someone on this forum has an answer or can point me to a resource that could help.

Hi:
Yes, your PC should meet Microsoft's minimum W11 hardware requirements.
It has an Intel 8th generation core processor.
It has a UEFI BIOS
It supports secure boot
It should have a TPM 2.0 security device which would be listed under a security devices category in the device manager.

Paul, thank you for such a quick and positive response. I could not easily find that it has UEFI BIOS & Secure Boot. Since I cannot use device manager until the PC is activated, I will not be sure about TPM 2.0; however Microsoft states that most PCs shipped since mid-2016 are capable of running it.
I also intend to install an NVMe PCIe SSD drive in an M.2 slot and clone the W11 OS on it. If all of this works, I should have a pretty decent home PC to replace my aging one that CANNOT support W11.
