help please 🙂
After the upgrade de HP Spectre X360 Convertible 13 -ac 0xx, from the operating system Windows 10 Home to Windows 10 Professional (or Enterprise) the system/PC starts to make temporary stops and to block.
This behavior only reveals itself when the system are working in battery mode , when I turn on the power (USB-c) it starts to work well.
HP says it's because it's a different operating system.
But HP's own website does not differentiate operating systems only says Windows 10 64 Bit's
The sales site says Windows 10 Home or OTHER OPERATING SYSTEMS

When I reinstall the operating system Windows 10 Home, the PC starts to work fine. 🙂
Can you help me? what can it be ? what i can do ?

Good answer.
What are your reasons for trying to upgrade?
Windows 10 Pro adds:
- Domain Join Services
- BitLocker Drive Encryption
- Remote Access Services
- Group Policy editor
- Windows Update for Business
Windows 10 Enterprise adds:
- Long Term Servicing Branch
- Device Guard - help protect against the ever-growing range of modern security threats targeted at devices, identities, applications and sensitive company information
------------------------
Which of those features do you want/need ?

Such "why" questions are difficult to answer, but the "BitLocker Drive Encryption" uses some hardware & software that are not used by Windows 10 Home.

Can you provide a fuller explanation of "temporary stops and to block" ?
Have you launched the HP Hardware Diagnostics, to test your system? Did it "fail" or did it "pass" ?

When running on battery-power, some computers slow-down the processor, to consume the battery-power more slowly.
Measure, measure, measure.
When running on battery, use the "Performance" tab of Windows Task Manager in Windows 10 to display the "current" and the "maximum" speed of your CPU. Connect the power-adapter, and measure again.
Tell us the results.

Hi,
I don't think your freezes are related to the upgrade to the professional version. Search in the forum for sporadic freezes. You will find some threads.
I myself had the same issues on a stock Spectre x360 ac000ng. Also, only happening on battery power. I did a lot of research also in cooperation with the HP support but we could not identify the root cause. I also sent int he device for repair but the only thing that was done was to install Windows again. I had already ordered the Windows USB stick to make sure my recovery partition does not contain a corrupted copy. Nothing helped.
For me, it magicaly fixed itself without any driver update or anything (can't tell for sure for MS updates). Since then, I am facing a different problem with my display flickering if it is waked up from sleep. Hoever, the issue is now only to be seen very rarly - again no changes from my side. However, it is not fixed completely yet. HP is still in contact with me about it.
My personal opinion is that there is an error in the ACPI implementation that causes these issues in specific power saving conditions. I also am running linux on the machine. This is working fine but is not able to use these many power saving techniques. The kernel is giving me some error messages when trying.
Good luck
