Hi, I would like to know if it is possible to upgrade the bios on hp pro 3130 mt to enable windows 10 upgrade? I have spoken to the microsoft Help line and they said the bios needs to be older than 2013, however mine is from 2011 and when i checked it appears to be the latest available?
Does anyone please know if there is a later version of the bios and if so where i can download it?
Many thanks for your help.
Jim

Hi, Jim:
Unfortunately, HP did not release any newer BIOS updates for your PC than the one currently listed on the support page from 2011.
Have you tried updating the PC to W10 as it is? It seems to meet the minimum requirement to upgrade.
You may still be able to get the free upgrade to W10 by reading the info at the link below.
https://www.zdnet.com/article/heres-how-you-can-still-get-a-free-windows-10-upgrade/
If you want to give it a try, click on the blue Update Now button at the link below.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
If you are asked to enter a product key during the upgrade process, select the 'I don't have a product key' option.
You have 30 days to go back to W7 if things don't work to your expectations.
Before attempting to upgrade the PC use the free Macrium Reflect software to create a system image of your current hard drive.
https://www.macrium.com/reflectfree?x-ca=blog
The software will also have you create a bootable rescue DVD or USB flash drive that you use to access the system image stored on the portable hard drive.

Many thanks for the reply, unfortunately I have already tried to upgrade to W10 via the way advised but it always fails even though it meets the minimum requirements. That is when i contacted Microsoft and they adised the Bios was too old as was before 2013.
