Hey there!
I was looking at buying a new computer b/c the old one I have is just ridiculously slow on load up but after researching I saw where I could upgrade the HDD to an SSD. I have a Pavilion 23-q140 Touchscreen All-in-one model #N0A22AA#ABA. I was looking around for the appropriate SSD and was not sure which one needed to get. I saw this one and wanted to know if this was compatible with my system. I just don't want to spend a whole lot of money getting a new system if I can update the Storage to make my old system run better. Any assistance is welcomed and also would like to know how complicated would it be to change it out. Everything I read and watched doesn't seem too complicated but other opinions would be greatly appreciated.
The SSD I am looking at:

Here is the Upgrading and Servicing Guide
Nice easy to follow pictorial guide. The hard drive you have is a 3.5 inch desktop model but you can use that SSD you ask about with what is called a 3.5 to 2.5 adapter. The power and data cable connections are the same you just need a way to hold the smaller SSD in the bay built for the larger desktop hard drive. That is where the adapter comes in.
An SSD wil do wonders. If you have any more questions, fire away and please accept as solution if this is the info you needed.

Hi:
Yes, that drive will work, but you will need to figure out how to mount it.
Looking at the specs & parts list for your PC, apparently it comes with a 3.5" drive, and SSD's are 2.5"
They sell 3.5" to 2.5" drive caddies, so you can mount the 2.5" SSD where the 3.5" drive is currently mounted.
However, they make so many different designs of these adapters, you will have to figure out which one is the best and easiest to use for your PC's particular situation.
The Samsung 860 is an excellent choice for a SSD, but I would like to recommend this one, which probably costs less and has slightly faster max sequential read/write speeds, and also comes with a 5 year warranty.

100% agree with @Paul_Tikkanen ...SATA M.2 SSDs have reached the point where you can buy on price. The difference in performance between the low end and high end is not great and there are often really good sales if you watch carefully. WD and Samsung are the leaders, but others make a good product, too.

@collvm -- how much disk-space are you currently using?
A 1 TB SSD is more expensive than a 512 GB SSD.
So, if you are currently using less than 120 GB, and don't have a plan to consume a huge amount of disk-space in the future, you can choose to spend a few dollars less, to purchase a 512 GB SSD.
