Can I install a 500 watt power supply into my HP Envy TE01-1154 which came with a 180 watt PSU ?

@Scoot117,

No, it's plug-and-play: cable by cable they are the same except the 500-watt power supply has additional power cables, specifically one PCIe 6-pin and one PCIe 6+2-pin power cables, which you can use to power a graphics card.

Please note that the 500-watt power supply is bulkier (taller) than your stock 180-watt power supply, but it will fit just fine in your case.

Kind Regards,

@Scoot117,

Welcome to our HP community forum!

Yes, indeed there is a 500-watt power supply for your HP ENVY Desktop TE01-1154 PC (319J4AA) as fitted with a Baker motherboard (SSID: 8767), and it has p/n: L05757-800.

This power supply can be purchased online, such as via a Trusted eBay Seller: NEW Power Supply 500W For HP ENVY Desktop - 795-0003UR L05757-800 US | eBay.

Kind Regards,

Thank you for your response and advice regarding the 500 w PSU.  Can I simply swap out the unit or are there any other adjustments or settings that need to be done when I install the 500w PSU ?
