Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Hello,

I was using windows 10(64-bit) up until last month. Then my laptop hard drive crashed and I had to replace it, after that i ran the recovery discs provided by HP to recover it back to FACTORY SETTINGS. The laptop originally came with windows 8.1(64-bit).

Now my question is would it upgrade back to windows 10 automatically or would I have to install windows 10 externally?

Hi,

You have to re-install Windows 10, it won't upgrade automatically. Please use the following instructions to create Windows 10 installation media and install to your machine. You can do a CLEAN install

   https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/software-download/windows10

During the installation process, it will ask for a key, please skip this and continue. Windows 10 will activate when you come onlne.

Regards.
