Hi All,

So first - Careful of BIOS Update 01.23.00 Rev.A !! it gets pushed onto the system and windows is not vocal at all its a bios update.

i will have to say i am quite dejected right now. I have been an owner of a HP Elitebook 840 G5 laptop for quite a while now and had another 3 HP models before that. Have nothing but praise for them.

Today when using the system (all perfectly fine since a longer time) I have had an update prompt from windows as often - asked to update & reboot and went off. Just when leaving I relized it was doing a bios update - ok I thought - I'll wait to make sure all end well. It did - all updates with success - so went off and returned after a while.

I found the system in the recovery prompt. Ok I thought - not good (after a bios update..), tried the automated recovery option, tried the boot to recovery, tried the windows usb cli bcd restores etc. all to no avail. system seems bricked. will have to extract the data from the ssd and rebuild. quite dejected right now as my warranty was until 31.12.2022 - so ofc HP You had to brick my system after the warranty run out hm... thx for that - would have a use for once for that support i paid for...
