Go into the BIOS setup and press the function key that restores default settings. It may be F9. Then make sure the date and time are set correctly. Tap F10 to exit the setup and be sure to save settings.
If laptop is old (8 + years) you may need to replace the CMOS battery if it has one. Most new laptops do not use those coin type batteries.
Please provide the Product ID or Model name for better assistance. Preferably the full product ID including the characters after the # symbol.
