I need help on figuring out what size of internal SSD solid state drive I need for my pc. I already have one and its a NVme but it doesn't have a lot of space so I want to replace it. My motherboard number is Model 8860 (U3E1). I plan on getting a WD_BLACK 1TB 1TB SN850X NVme Internal Gaming SSD Solid State Drive - Gen4 PCle, M.2 2280 (1tb of storage) from Amazon. I need to know what size of NVme SSD I need and if it will work with my pc. The pc I have is a HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop TG01-2260xt CTO. Please if someone could help that would mean a lot. Thank you.

Greetings @Spook1o1

Welcome to the HP Forum.

The 2280 drive form factor is good. And the WD SSD is a Gen4 PCIe drive, so this also good.

You can do any capacity drive (1TB, 2TB, or 4 TB) offered by WD or other drive manufacturers.

WD offers software downloads for your drive Here.

WD offers Acronis disk cloning software. So you could clone the existing OS to the new drive.

You would need a M.2 to USB 3.0 adapter (Amazon or Newegg) to clone the existing OS to the new drive before you install the new drive in your PC. Then you could use the old SSD as an external data drive.

Regards
