Well. I've been reading a lot of posts and questions here that really work. well. My name is Daniel. I want to build my PC with an HP Z420 board. and a Xeon E5-2690, (I will not use the original Z420 case) I still have many doubts. I heard people say something about "HP Z420_2" "HP Z420_1" "HP Z420_V2" And well, that's what confuses me. What does "HP Z420_v2" mean? Is it a new motherboard of the same HP Z420 model? Or is it just a Bios update? How do I know if my board is V0 V2 V1 or how?

Hello
sorry, just a question, because I do not know if we will find an answer to that, the difference, can be imperceptible also!
You say you want to build your computer, with another box.
but why this model of motherboard?
With manufacturer models, like here HP, you have fewer advantages, than if you buy a model which is made to be sold at retail.
You are more limited, in time, for upgrades, and the possibilities are generally less, with sometimes problems at the level of connectors that are difficult to adapt to another box

@ElBurgerXV -- What does "HP Z420_v2" mean?
It probably means that there are some "engineering changes" in this "version 2" of the motherboard -- maybe more sockets for RAM or SATA devices, and/or an updated BIOS, to support the changed hardware, and maybe support for newer/faster processors.
I would avoid Windows 7 -- if you use new components, there might not be any device-drivers for those components for usage under Windows 7.

Sorry, a little hard to follow, because there is no new line, everything is stuck in a row
If you have already bought the motherboard, then my answer is of little use after all
Windows 10 64 bits is one of the best systems to date
it is mentioned windows 8 on your motherboard, but not great in my opinion
and most of the drivers are available for w10

Read the documents here, it might help you too
(if it corresponds well to the model, check the possibilities of hardware updates)
