Z240 Small form Work station
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

We had recently purchased a new small form factor Z240 Workstation from you and had installed SSD drives to replace the hard drive it came with.  We had also installed Windows 10 but need to know how to activate it as the workstation came with a Windows 10 DVD but did not come with a license key for activation.

Could you please assist us with this and let us know where the license key would be located for the workstation.

Thank you,

Hi:

Starting with all PC's that come with W8 or newer, the Windows product key is in the BIOS and it should not be necessary to use it to install the same version of W10 that the product key is good for, and the installation should automatically activate.

If you want to view the product key in the BIOS, I have zipped up and attached a free utility below, that will show you the W10 product key in the BIOS.

After we had installed the SSD drives, the workstation would not boot the Windows activation and setup from BIOS, it threw a no Operating System found error, which is why we installed Windows manually.  I will try the utility, thank you.
