Thanks again everyone, I hope to buyign some stuff in the next day or so.
I am a little confused about why the build is seen as old hat. I know its not all about Gh, but 3.4 is as fast as some of the more expensive ones. Id only get about 100 bucks from ebay for the 2600 chip, so Im not sure I could get a better chip, a mobo, a psu, and a case all for what would then be £300. Do you think I could?
I will be doing video editing and gaming, so yeah I need the best I can get but only have a little over £200 and an old HP computer.
The only thing is (looking at ebay uk) that H61 mobos seem like £50 so they arent really that cheap and its quite hard to find a good one with USB 3.
I suppose I could get a z77 but they are more money and would only let me put a 3770k in it in the future. So if I wanted much faster in the future Id need a new mobo anyway.
So yeah it seems to me that I dont have enough money to build a future proof PC> So its just a matter of making the best out of what I have. Ill be using premiere and playing some games. Also Im thinking if I can get a mobo and PSU for relatively cheap I may be able to upgrade RAM which would help with video editing.
If anyone wants to make any suggestions as to which MOBO/PSU/RAM I should get that would be great, Im in the UK. Im probably gunna order some stuff either today or tomorrow.
Or if you can suggest a way of selling parts to get a better chip that works out please let me know I just cant see how it would work.
Thanks again 🙂
