This PC passes everything except the CPU for Win 11. Is it likely for a firmware upgrade or other that will make it compatible ?

Hi:
Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do to make the PC eligible for an in-place upgrade to W11.
The system board only allows for certain Intel 7th gen core processors.

If you are willing to clean install W11, you should be able to get it to work.

Thank you. That is what I feared. I'm one of those people who won't part with a vehicle until the odometer shows 230,000 miles (and I still use a flip phone). I still have one light duty PC purchased in 2006. Two full time PCs purchased in 2014, one in 2015 and two in 2018. I'm using the ENVY as a file server. I guess my plan will be to try one new Win 11 and see how it interacts with the ENVY. I don't anticipate significant problems with that. Due to my configuration and disk encryption, upgrading my file server(the ENVY) is a real chore. Then, assuming 11 plays nicely with 10, a new one each year.

You're very welcome.
I just got done using the W11 Media creation tool to create a bootable USB installation flash drive and installed W11 Pro on a HP Stream Pro 11 G4 which has an unsupported Celeron N3450 processor.
So far, it is working great. At least as good as it did on W10 if not a little better.
