The windows 11 update system is not working. I am not able to update anything on the OS. Also, I am having issues booting; I need to select the boot manually to work.

I can tell you up front that we have no way of fixing Windows Update issues -- which unfortunately, are more common that you would assume is the case.

When a Windows Update fails, it generally provides and error message with a failure code and if you click that message, it will provide some text about the code.  That doesn't fix the failure, but it provides some clues about what is wrong with the PC.

What other OS updating are you doing that is also failing?

When you say you are booting manually, does this mean you are opening the UEFI settings or boot options and selecting the boot device?  What happens if you don't do that?

Thanks for answering. I understand what you said about the error codes but it's not my case. The error downloading and installing windows upgrade doesn't give me any code, only the text saying that something went wrong. However, I ran the troubleshooting and checked the way that they were supposed to fix the problems. Surprisingly, the only thing I got was:

What they checked:

WAASMEDICSERVICE

BITS SVC

SYSTEM MANAGEMENT AUTOMATIZATION

REMOTE EXCEPTION

The solution applied (That worked nothing):

SECURITY SETTING RESET

SERVICES REGISTRY MISSING OR CHANGED

I have been over a week seeking for a real fix without success. None of the troubleshootings used is working. Everything starting after I received an upgrade that never finished to install and I used an online solution to stop it, because was not letting me to boot the computer right. I don't remember how was the fixing but it worked fine. I have not had the problematic upgrade auto-starting again, but also no one else could download again.

I stopped the Malwarebytes, reviewed the registry and tried again: nothing!

The only thing I found in the registry was that there is not a dedicate entrance for the Windows Upgrade but a bunch of codes sprayed out through the registry. I am a computer technician, but I don't know well how to program, so I don't tried to create a new entrance for that there. Any help with this will be appreciated.

About the boot problem, the issue I think that happens because I upgraded BIOS to the last version, and it's not keeping the OS boot process stable, so every time I start the PC I have to press F9 to get the boot controls and mark it to the OS. Now I don't know how to take it back to the old version. I am always so careful with the BIOS handling because this is the brain of the computer. Looks that the 2024 version I input has a bug or didn't install right.

Sorry to hear about the updates issue -- as without error messages, there is no way to find out what went wrong.

As to the BIOS update, I understand that these can go wrong but when they do, unless you have made a backup of the previous BIOS load, there is usually nothing you can do to fix it.

Wish I had better news, but I do not.

Thank you again for the quick answer. Sorry for the absence of solutions.
