Pavilion Slimline s5780t
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I have a friend with the above-listed model. He recently upgraded to Windows 10 (translation: Microsoft forced the upgrade on him without his consent). His PC was running fine prior to the upgrade, but since then it's been exhibiting all sorts of misc. problems.

Before I start looking at specifics, I just wanted to find out if this model PC is compatible with Windows 10 in the first place. I came onto the HP website hoping to find this "table" of tested models, but haven't been able to locate it anywhere.

Could someone either tell me if the Pavilion s5780t is tested with Windows 10 or point me towards where I could find out myself?

Thank you in advance.

Hi:

HP does not support that model for W10, and there are no W10 drivers for it on the support page.

Here is the link to the product specs...it was made in 2011, which was older than the cutoff date for when HP tested PC's for W10.

Here is the HP link regarding compatibility with W10...

That PC should be able to run W10 OK regarding the basic hardware.  I have two HP business class PC's with the Sandy Bridge processors and chipsets and they work just fine.  Different audio chips though (Realtek).

Now if that model has a TV tuner and other such optional devices, those may not work.

The Beats Audio may not work...However, give this W10 driver a try.  It works on many HP PC's with the IDT Beats audio.

This package provides the IDT Tempo High Definition Audio Driver for supported desktop models that are running a supported operating system.
