Windows 10 Not Support Pavilion All In One

The Windows 8 install that was originally on this PC corrupted and we could not locate the original media that came with it, and the recovery options on it did not work. I had a copy of Windows 10 that I used to format the drive and load the OS. Once I got it all setup, I come to find out there is no driver support for Windows 10.

Can I get a copy of Win8 from HP? Are there drivers for this for Windows 10? Is there some hidden copy of Win8 on this in one of the 3 recovery partitions? I'd really like to use the touchscreen capabilities. Thanks for any help you can offer.

Hi:

That model is not supported for W10 by HP since it was made prior to August of 2013.

I doubt you would be able to get the touchscreen to work in W10.

Here are your options...clean install W8.1 by using the W8 product key in your PC's BIOS.

Since there is HP driver support for W8.1, hopefully the touchscreen will work.

Install W8.1 by creating the Microsoft installation media, using another Windows PC, if yours is not working...You want W8.1 64 bit.

If you are asked to enter a product key during the installation process, use this generic key.

This is the generic key for W8.1 'Standard.'

When you get to the screen that asks 'Where do you want to install Windows,' delete every partition on the hard drive, leaving just one partition of unallocated space. Click Next, and W8.1 should begin to install.

If you had to enter the generic key, manually change the generic product key to the W8 key in your PC's BIOS in the PC settings menu.

After you get W8.1 installed, and you had to manually enter the W8.1 generic product key, you will need to run the free utility I zipped up and attached below, that will show you show the W8 product key in your PC's BIOS.

I have also zipped up and attached below, the Microsoft tool which hopefully will transfer the ISO file to a DVD or USB flash drive so it is bootable.

Then you can install the available drivers and software from your PC's support page.

Thank you so much for all the helpful links and software, that's great! I'm finally getting back to this project, I have downloaded the ISO and am now transferring it to the USB drive, hopefully that'll bootup and I can install 8. I'll let you know! Thanks!

And after all that, I get it running, and... discover it's not a touchscreen. What a waste. I had big plans. Drat. Thanks though, new pc for the kids.

I just looked up the specs and agree...I don't see any info regarding the display being a touch screen.

If everything else worked on there, you may want to upgrade back to W10.

You can do that by clicking on the blue Update Now button at the link below.

If you are asked to enter a product key during the installation process, select the 'I don't have a product key' option, and W10 will install and automatically activate once you are connected to the internet.

I might, W8 seems to be running faster than 10 was, it was noticeably lagging. Thanks for confirming my findings, sad face....

I guess I should have checked the specs first before replying, but I figured you had the touchscreen working before the upgrade and were reporting it not working afterward.

Oh well, at least you now have a free way to reinstall W8.1 if you ever need to do so again.
