Pavilion 55000
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I restarted my desktop it's now in Airplane mode & now I can't login even after changing my password with MS. Due to it being in Airplane mode I'm sure. I have unplugged everything except my mouse & keyboard. Restarted it again. It's still in Airplane mode. I went into Safe Mode but that brings me back to login screen.

Please Help!

Hi

Can you connect via an Ethernet Cable?

First:- Turn off the computer, press and hold the PWR button for 4 seconds.
Next - Press and Hold the Power button for 15 seconds to Hard Reset.
Rinse and Repeat

Power on your PC, press Esc (repeatedly), then F2 at the prompt.
Choose System Tests (Fast Test does a 4 minute hardware check).

Hi,

I followed your recommendations. My Diagnostics UEFI Offers: Memory Test, Hard Drive Check, Language and Exit. I ran the memory test and that was fine. I ran the hard drive check, and the Long Test "Failed". And that I totally do not understand. I sent the desktop in for repair of a bad fan and it was received April 8th (it had Windows 8 on it). I received a email the same day saying it was repaired and that they were sending it back. I got it back 4 days later on April 12. And much to my surprise it had now had Windows 10 on it. I tried to create a system imagine and I got an error message. Of which my understanding was that I was not authorized to do this. Which I found weird being the only user and therefore the administrator. I verified this and restarted the computer. When the OS loaded, the PIN field had been replaced by a password field. The password I entered was rejected as wrong and there was no internet. Then I discovered it was in Airplane Mode. After writing down every password I could remember using, I was able to get in. But I am still unable to change the password. I was using a WiFi connection. After your suggestions I connected the ethernet and got the same results. The Airplane Mode field is grayed and the switch will not move.

Please help, I would like to permanently disable Airplane Mode. It's not like I need it on a desktop.

Thanks,

Trinalynn

Hi

IF you have a failure from any of the tests I suggest you create backups and recovery media, IMMEDIATELY.

Your Windows 8 and 10 licence keys should be recorded, along with any other licenced software,

I use Belarc Advisor and KeyFinderInstaller.
