ProDesk 600 G2 MT
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I  bought a 2nd hand ProDesk 600 G2 MT, I would like to install Linux as the main OS,  is it possible to reinstall Windows 10 in a virtual machine using the manufacturer license or must I purchase a retail copy.

After a bit of googling I was able to find this Linux command.

sudo strings /sys/firmware/acpi/tables/MSDM

This showed me the built in key on my PC, as below (key x-ed out)

MSDMU
HPQOEMSLIC-BPC
HP
xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx

Going through the normal activation steps after installing and entering the key shown by the above command seems to have activated a copy of Windows 10 running in a VirtualBox machine.  I was even able to copy and paste it from the Linux terminal to the entry box in Windows so I didn't have to try to type the whole thing out.  This is the only copy of Windows 10 running on this machine hopefully I won't need to use it much.
