I have many ProDesk 400 G1 MT bought with OS Win 8.1 downgraded to Win 7 Pro.
Yesterday I've try install W10 Pro 64bit (fall creators update) on 2 desktops and on both Windows 10 is correctly activated.
Why? I never try install W10 o this 2 desktop before.
Thanks

Good question. Unfortunately, nobody on this "user-to-user" forum is authorized to answer on behalf of Microsoft (or HP).

Never look a gift horse in the mouth.
Obviously, the 25-character product-key embedded in the BIOS has been accepted by Windows 10 as being valid.
