Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

We have the all in one 27 inch touch screen,  Intell i7 2.8ghz 16 gig mem, 162Gb free space on C drive, standard stuff.....

First time that windows 10 tried to update and wouldn't finish reloading, and then after multiple load attempts reversed the install, and left us with  a functioning but clogged up pc, was approx  AUGUST  2020, since then have had to do a complete recovery thing the few times that the roll back didnt work which seems to wipe the update logs

It takes roughly a half hour of patiently waiting for it to restart and CClean to unclog it, and then its working again like normal, except is then tries to update again, the very next day, which is fine, but the same thing happens, over and over again.

Cant PAUSE the update for anymore time, and when ever the pc is shut down, You guessed it it just tries it again.

Rang Microsoft, and geez that was an experience, tried 5 times to get them to help, but no results as they cant get past the update first thing, I also asked them how to stop the update so that I didnt have to spend time every two weeks fixing the pc, they walked me through a dos script to stop the updates, but that didnt work, and that was the limit of the guys spread sheets knowledge.

How do I stop this from happening until such time as when its fixable?

What is the update trying to do that the pc doesn't like and refuses to restart?

have included screenshots of update logs.

All help greatfully accepted, thnx 😄 😄

@Lowmion

This is a really tough situation as we don't have the resources here to debug issues with Windows Updates -- and your situation is especially confusing.

Looking at the history, it looks at first like the updates went OK until March and after that, they failed.  But then, looking farther down the history to the bottom, I see updates as recent as June 16th that worked OK.

That's only a few days ago, so it does not appear to be a general problem with Windows Update that started in April.

If this were mine, I would do the stuff below to reset Windows Update and see if that helps: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/24742-reset-windows-update-windows-10-a.html

If that does not work, use this link to download the recent Win10 Cumulative Update and run it:  KB5004476 Windows 10 2004 19041.1055, 20H2 19042.1055, 21H1 19043.1055 Windows Update - Windows 10 F...

We have the very same problem, with an HP All-in-One 23-q119. Updates have been failing from around the same time as the first user in this thread.

Multiple calls to Microsoft have not helped to resolve the issue, and we are at a loss for what to do next.

Error reporting log shows:

80242016 UpdateOrchestrator Failure Content Install Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x80242016: Feature update to Windows 10, version 20H2. AQFWoAG2o0q4FBUH.1.1.16.1.4.1.0
