Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Windows 10 v.2004 for x64-bit fails to install every day, since 8-14-20 (Ox80242016)

I do not know if this is a necessary update, but it seems insistent on being installed, with pop-ups multiple times a day.

I do not know if this is related, but a few days before, on 8-7, v.1903 x64 failed to install; but, on 8-17 (after v.2004 failed on 8-14), it installed successfully.

How do I get it to complete the installation of v.2004, or at least quit trying to?

I am trying to avoid having to restore my computer. I am a long-time user of Windows, but not a very advanced operator.

I am also experiencing a problem with a smoke-colored small wisp coming from the right side of my screen.  Does this indicate a hardware problem that is fixable?

Unfortunately, you will have to intervene to this this update to install as without your action, it will probably just keep failing again and again.

Here is a link with some instructions -- just be sure to NOT download anything from them:  https://softwaretested.com/windows/windows-10-error-code-0x80242016-how-to-fix-it/#:~:text=How%20to%...

Good Luck
