Giving computer to a friend so I tried to do a full system reset.  But it stops at 12%.  Tried twice same result

Hi:

 

If you can't get the factory reset to work, I would clean install W10 by using the media creation tool at the link below to create a bootable W10 installation flash drive.

When you get to the part of the installation process where it asks 'Where do you want to install Windows,' delete every partition on the hard drive, leaving just one partition of unallocated space, then click Next, and let W10 install.

 

After W10 has finished installing, you can install the drivers and available software from the PC's support page.

If your friend is not happy with the outcome, your friend can order recovery media for the PC at the bottom of the W10 driver page above.
