I am having trouble installing windows 11 on my Omen 45L - I downloaded the necessary storage drivers (Intel-RST), created a boot recovery ( using microsoft creation tool, cleared all partitions from disk 0 (ssd) and disk 1 (hdd), but halfway through install I get an error message stating windows cannot proceed with this portion and reverts me back to the start. I also went as far as unplugging my HDD and tried installing with just the ssd available. What am I doing wrong or missing?

@HewGankedMe, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Installing Windows 11 on HP Omen 45L!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
It sounds like you're encountering issues during the Windows 11 installation on your HP Omen 45L. Here are some steps and considerations to help troubleshoot and resolve the installation problems:
Verify System Requirements:
- Ensure that the HP Omen 45L meets the minimum system requirements for Windows 11 installation.
Prepare the SSD:
- Since you've already cleared partitions, ensure the SSD is formatted correctly.
- Check the SSD's health using diagnostic tools to ensure it's functioning properly.
Update BIOS:
- Ensure your system BIOS is up to date. You can check for updates through HP Support Assistant or directly from the HP website.
Create Installation Media:
- Redownload and recreate the bootable Windows 11 installation media using the Microsoft Media Creation Tool. Ensure the media is created correctly.
Use Correct Drivers:
- Make sure you're using the correct and latest Intel Rapid Storage Technology (RST) drivers. Sometimes using an out-of-date or incorrect driver can cause installation issues. These drivers ensure proper communication between storage devices and the system.
- You can download the latest drivers from the HP support site or Intel’s official website.
BIOS Settings:
- Access BIOS settings and ensure that the SATA mode is set to AHCI. If it's set to RAID, change it to AHCI before proceeding with installation.
- Disable Secure Boot temporarily for the installation process.
Disconnect Other Storage Devices:
- While you have already tried disconnecting the HDD, ensure that any other unnecessary external devices are also disconnected. Only keep the SSD connected during installation.
Boot Order:
- Ensure the boot order is set correctly in BIOS. The system should boot from the USB installation media first.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
