Hello!

I have an HP Elitedesk 800 G4 (i7-8700 CPU) that wont license Windows 11 after an install. I build this model machine all the time and have done at least 50 so far with no problems. The image I use is on a Kingston flash drive right from Microsoft site.

Interesting facts...

When I load Win 10 on the same machine, I still get the no license error. However... when I use a KMS license tool..it will let me activate it. When I use that same tool after installing Win 11, it errors and locks up.

Any comments or suggestions  are welcome!

Thanks!

Hi:

If Windows isn't activating, most likely the PC has a motherboard with no Windows product key in the BIOS.

If you enter the PC's serial number in the search window at the link below, it should provide the motherboard part number and description.

If the motherboard part number ends in -001, then it does not have a Windows product key in the BIOS.

Motherboards with Windows product keys in the bios have part numbers that end in -601.

If W10 is activating with KMS license, the only suggestion I can offer would be to do an in-place upgrade from W10>W11 and perhaps the license will carry over to the W11 installation.

Click on the W11 Activation Assistant button at the link below (1st option) to do a free in-place upgrade from W10>W11.

Download Windows 11
