HP Pavilion P6260nl PC
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hard disk (1 TB) crashed, and Recovery no longer works.

Now I replaced it with a new 1TB SSD (which is empty because clowning also does not work).

I need to install Windows 7 (64-bit) again ( I have the key), but Micorsoft does not allow me to download it. Microsoft message: Software was preinstalled by HP. Contact HP for possibilities.

Question: what to do next to get my Windows??

That would indicate that the DVD was not bootable.  Those DVD's are supposed to be good, so perhaps the method used to burn the DVD was not correct.  If the file was indeed a ISO, then just open the burning app and drop the ISO in and tell it to start.  Do not open the ISO and move the  files, or use ImgBurn to burn the ISO.

Yes, the OEM product key does not work for the download.  You can try here

https://www.heidoc.net/joomla/technology-science/microsoft/67-microsoft-windows-iso-download-tool

That has been reported as working.  As an alternative, you can use a retail Windows 7 disk and use the product key to activate after installation.  P.S. you can borrow a disk and use your key after the install is completed.  Just use the Windows 7 Home Premium if that is the same as the key.

BTW: having a current backup is also a good pal for the future.

Thanks so far. The site <heidoc.net > did give me the possibility to download file: Win7_HomePrem_SP1_Dutch_x64. The download site did give the message: Download Windows 7 Disc Image (ISO file).  (I did choose ISOX64 download, and not ISOX84 download).

However, after burning this file on DVD and placing it in the DVD - drive of the new PC, I hear the DVD making fast rotations but no starting of the Windows 7 programma. I continue to get the message: Reboot and Select proper Boot device

or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key.

I checked in the BIOS that the first boot device was the DVD reader. I also hear it rotate fast, but no actual installation starts.
