HP Pavilion Elite HPE
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I have been having a random hang issue with my HP Pavilion Elite HPE over the past few weeks.  As I methodically research this issue, I am finding in the Events log an event 370 error at each boot up for an HP printer that I removed using the instructions from the HP support web page (i.e. removed using applications and programs panel then removed from printers and devices).

Does someone know what additional components are still embedded into the OS that is causing these bootup errors, and how to get rid of them?  Here is the event log info:

Event 370, PrintService

General:

The print spooler failed to regenerate the printer driver information for driver HP Officejet Pro 8620 for environment Windows x64. Win32 system error code 2114 (0x842). This can occur after an operating system upgrade or because of data loss on the hard drive.

Welcome back to our HP Forums

I have gone through your Post and would like to help

Let's try uninstalling the printer driver from Root Level once again

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
2.) Select your HP Printer
3.) Select Uninstall
4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’
6.) Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.
7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)
8.) Click on the “Drivers” tab
9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
10.) Select Ok
11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
12.) Close Devices and Printers
13.) Restart the computer

Keep me posted how it goes

Thank you and have a wonderful day 😊

Krazy,

Thank you for the steps:

I had already done steps 1-5 so they were not able to be repeated.

The remaining steps brougt forth the ability to delete the driver and fix the issue.

Now I need to work out the remaining issues to find out why my PC is having random hangs.

Best Regards,
