Does HP let us download the original ISO so we can load it onto a new hard drive? Microsoft told me to get it through HP. Thanks.

Hi, @Jp171 :
This site claims to have genuine, unadulterated W7 ISO files for download...
https://www.heidoc.net/joomla/technology-science/microsoft/67-microsoft-windows-iso-download-tool
Click on the link labeled Windows ISO Downloader.exe
You can use either the:
Win 7 Home SP1 or the (Retail version, but the OEM key on your PC's case will work with it)
Win 7 Home SP1 COEM (This version would be for what HP would have used--System Builder)
N is for European Union (EU) countries.
K is for South Korean markets.
Then you can use this tool to transfer the file to a 4 GB USB flash drive or a DVD.

No. But, access http://support.hp.com and enter your model-number.
HP might offer the "System Recovery" set for purchase.
Or, try a purchase from www.computersurgeons.com
Do you still have the decal on the side of the case, showing the 25-character product-key?
If so, and you can borrow the "retail" Windows 7 media from a friend, you can install from that media, using your key.
You'll probably have to access http://support.hp.com to download the device-drivers for your HP-specific hardware.
Or, maybe, Windows Update will find and download the drivers.
Or, "bite the bullet", and purchase a copy of Windows 10, and install it.
