After my PC failed because motherboard was damaged by a electrical shock, I replaced mother board in an HP Service in Chile. When I received back my PC it works fine, but after 1 week, it starts to show a message that said that I need to activate Windows 7. When I try to activate, it requests me the product key, but there is no place to find it. After a couple of days it get locked, and I could't use more. I recover the PC with System Recovery and works fine first days but again is requesting me to activate Windows 7. Where could I find activation key for my original Windows 7 product? I would like to continue using my PC normally.
Thank you.

Greetings,
There should be a 25 character Microsoft COA sticker affixed to your system.
Try the product number on the COA.
You will have to contact HP for service again if there is no COA sticker.
It appears HP did not tattoo the BIOS on the new motherboard with the correct information to auto activate the operating system.
Cheers!

Hello,
Usually after a system board replacement, you need to enter the unit's featurebyte and build ID in the BIOS. This information can be found on a sticker on the tower. Once this info is entered and saved, Windows will get auto activated.
You may also contact HP tech support and they will guide you to do this.
Hope this helps.
