Hi all,
I had to replace the disk on my HP Pavilion Elite HPE-140es Desktop PC and now I need to reinstall Windows 7 (Windows Home 7 Prem OA HP). I have the product key but since this PC came pre-installed by HP the product key does not allow me to download Windows 7 from the Microsoft website. How and where could I get it?
Thanks in advance!
Joan

Hi, @Joan_1
The HP cloud recovery tool has absolutely no chance of working on your PC because it was built way before any PC's supported by the tool.
You have two options:
1. Purchase recovery media for your PC from this vendor since HP no longer sells it.
2. Make a bootable W7 Home Premium installation flash drive or DVD by downloading the W7 64 bit ISO file from the link below--toward the bottom of the page.
I have zipped up and attached the Microsoft utility below, that you will need to transfer the ISO file to a DVD or USB flash drive so that it is bootable.
After you install W7, you can install the drivers and available software from your PC's support page.
Since the ISO file is a retail file, and the product key on your PC is OEM, you may have to use the Automated Microsoft Phone Activation System to activate the installation.
