When I wasn't looking Windows Update downloaded and installed "HP Inc. - Firmware - 15.21.0.0" which is "UEFI: AMI F.21 07/06/2023" .. from what I understand that is . I believe my Bios is supposed to be F15 . Not F21 ... I guessing the firmware version must of been confusing to someone as I again believe I was current and HP shouldn't let others play with my Firmware ! Now , Please tell me how to return to F15 without any more trouble ,, Thank You HP Envy Desktop TE01-3254

Hi @dotbiz1
I am not a fan of getting HP BIOS updates from Windows Update.
You have the Reno MB, MB SSID 89B5. The latest BIOS update offered by HP for this MB can be reviewed Here. Download this update. Try to install it. It will probably abort.
The process to go back to an older BIOS is very complex with some HP consumer PCs. HP generally does not allow BIOS rollbacks. Best to have a local PC Tech do this unless you are comfortable with this stuff.
This BIOS rollback may have to be done outside of the operating system. And you have to clear the F.21 BIOS .bin and .sig files in the EFI System Partition to stop a BIOS update loop back to the F.21 BIOS..
So, I guess I would ask if this BIOS update is causing any problems? Don't worry if the PC is okay.
You can stop future HP firmware updates from windows Update as follows:
Enter Advanced System Settings in Search. Select the Hardware tab.
Select Device Installation Settings. Select No. Save changes.
Select Apply then OK.
